Six Dead in Gujarat Road Accident as Bus Collides with Auto Rickshaw in Patan District

Patan, Gujarat, April 17 A tragic road accident early Thursday morning on the Sami-Radhanpur highway in Gujarat’s Patan district claimed the lives of six people. The collision occurred near Gochanad village when a Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) bus rammed into an auto rickshaw.

Fatal Collision Leaves No Survivors in Rickshaw

According to local police, the auto was carrying residents of the Vadi Mohalla in Amargadh, located in Radhanpur Tehsil, who were returning home. The GSRTC bus was reportedly en route from Himatnagar to Mata ki Madh, a pilgrimage site, when the incident took place.

The impact of the crash was so severe that the rickshaw was completely mangled, killing all six passengers on board on the spot. The deceased have been identified as:

  • Babu Bhai Phulvadi (70)

  • Kanta Ben Phulvadi (60)

  • Ishwar Bhai Phulvadi (75)

  • Tara Ben Phulvadi (70)

  • Naresh Phulvadi (35)

  • Sayra Ben Phulvadi (35)

Police and emergency medical teams arrived shortly after the incident. All bodies were transported to Radhanpur Referral Hospital for post-mortem.

MLA Visits Scene, Compensation Assured

Following the incident, Radhanpur MLA Lavingji Thakor visited the crash site and spoke with the bereaved families and local authorities. He expressed deep sorrow over the deaths and assured that efforts would be made to secure ₹4 lakh compensation from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for each of the victims’ families.
