Indian rapper Raftaar has voiced his disapproval of Canadian rapper Tommy Genesis, who has Indian roots, for allegedly disrespecting Hinduism in her recent music video titled 'True Blue'. Released on June 20, the video features Tommy painted in blue, adorned with gold jewelry and a red bindi, which many viewers interpreted as an imitation of a Hindu Goddess, sparking significant backlash on social media.

Raftaar expressed his concerns through an Instagram story, stating that he found the video offensive. He even reported it to YouTube, sharing a screenshot of his complaint. He remarked, 'This is a mockery of my religion. This shouldn’t exist.' He urged his followers to report the video as well, encouraging collective action to have it removed.

Many viewers felt that her portrayal resembled a Hindu Goddess, which they found offensive. Additionally, her use of a cross as a prop and suggestive gestures, such as licking it, have drawn ire from both Hindu and Christian communities.
