'You won't see': Pentagon shows new footage to counter reports that strikes achieved nothing

The Pentagon offered new explanations for Operation Midnight Hammer, denying claims that they were nothing and little damage was made to the three Iranian nuclear facilities -- as much as they can be rebuilt in a few weeks or months. Defense secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Dan Caine released new footage of how the bombers attack and said unlike a normal bomb, the damage created by this bomb can't be seen on the surface level as they are designed to deeply bury and then function.

“A bomb has three effects that causes damage: blast, fragmentation and overpressure. In this case, the primary kill mechanisms in the mission space was a mix of overpressure and blast,” Gen Caine added.

Hegseth attached the media for questioning the success of the operation and said media can't cheer for Trump -- after CNN reported a 'top secret' preliminary US intelligence analysis that claimed that there was not much damage to the nuclear facilities. "Searching for scandals, you miss historic moments like recruiting at the Pentagon, historic levels in the Army, the Air Force and the Navy," Hegseth, who was sidelined by President Donald Trump, ahead of the operation, said.

Caine offered insights into two Defense Threat Reduction Agency officers who studied the subterranean nuclear plant at Fordow for 15 years to plan the strikes and the crews who flew the B-2 bombers. He said all the bombs released at Fordow hit their intended speed, targets and functioned as designed. And he laid out the intricacy of a mission that used vents in the plant to deliver six weapons. And he showed video of a test showing the lethality of a bunker-busting bomb.

Khamanei confirms what US media reported: Achieved nothing

Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed that the US strikes on three sites did not achieve anything, and Trump exaggerated their impact. “Anyone who heard his remarks could tell there was a different reality behind his words — they could do nothing,” Khamanei said
