NEW DELHI: Govt will soon undertake a comprehensive security upgrade of the Parliament House Complex. Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has invited bids for the installation of an electric fence, a fibre optic-based Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS), and a CCTV camera surveillance network integrated with a centralised video management system (VMS).
As per the tender document, the project will be implemented at a cost of Rs 14.6 crore. The move gains significance in light of an incident last month in which a man attempted to scale a wall of Parliament.
