Street Fighter movie's cast may include Minecraft's Jason Mamoa, WWE's Roman Reigns and others

Jason Momoa , known for " A Minecraft Movie ," and WWE star Roman Reigns , from "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw," are reportedly in talks to join the cast of Legendary’s live-action Street Fighter movie . A Deadline report cited sources to claim that Andrew Koji (from "Bullet Train") and Noah Centineo ("Warfare") are also in discussions for roles in the film, which is based on the Capcom video games. However, representatives for the studio have declined to comment, and the plot details for the film remain undisclosed. In February, Kitao Sakurai ("Bad Trip") took over as director for the project. He inherited the role from Danny and Michael Philippou ("Talk To Me"), who were attached in April 2023 after Legendary acquired the exclusive film and TV rights to the " Street Fighter " intellectual property.

The film adaptation is being co-developed and co-produced alongside Capcom, the developer and publisher of the video games. There has been no information released yet regarding who has written the script or who will specifically produce the action film.

Street Fighter, first released in 1987, is a long-running fighting game series built around one-on-one matches and a global tournament led by the villainous M. Bison and his Shadaloo organisation.

To date, it has sold more than 55 million copies worldwide. Actor Ken Yamamura, known for parts in Warrior, Gangs of London, Bullet Train, and Boy Kills World, will next appear in the Tubi original Worth the Wait and Prime Video’s heist series Haven.

Jason Momoa, who most recently starred in The Minecraft Movie, is set to lead Apple’s miniseries Chief of War in August and Legendary’s Animal Friends in October, and he will also play Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and reprise Duncan Idaho in Dune: Messiah.

Noah Centineo, seen recently in A24’s Warfare and Netflix’s The Recruit, continues to build his screen resume, while former WWE champion Roman Reigns (Leati Joseph Anoa’i) has appeared in movies like Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and The Wrong Missy.
