Current NBA Standings before Playoff season begins

Send Push
The NBA Playoffs officially start on April 19th, after the regular season ends, with three days of the Play-in tournament between the last four seeds in each conference. All teams from the Eastern and Western Conference have finally reached a spot they can work with as the regular season is starting to conclude, at least for those whose Playoff hopes are still alive and well. With the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder sitting on their top spot, while the rest of the teams take their spots on the road to Playoff glory.

NBA Playoff season is right around the corner

As of now, each team has two games left in the regular season as the NBA gears up for Playoffs. The Eastern Conference has the Cleveland Cavaliers at the top, while the West has the Oklahoma City Thunders - their position has not changed since the beginning of the season. The Boston Celtics and the Houston Rockets have also clinched their respective divisions, thus cementing their positions in the postseason.

In the Eastern Conference, Knicks, Pacers, Bucks, and Pistons have clinched Playoff positions. So they will be moving forward in the Playoffs without any hiccups. In the Western Conference, only the 3rd seed, the Los Angeles Lakers, have clinched playoff positions, so they also have their postseason position set in stone this time around. But from 4th to the 8th seed - i.e., the Nuggets, Clippers, Warriors, Grizzlies, and the Timberwolves all are fighting to have a shoe in and will be fighting it out to cement their spot.

Which teams have already been eliminated from the Playoffs?
With only two games remaining, every team has a match tonight, dated April 11. And then over the next two days, seven and eight games will be played simultaneously to determine the final positions in the two conferences. Then, from next week, the Play-in tournament will start to determine the last two seeds and eliminate the two losing teams before Playoffs begin during the weekend.

Unfortunately, in the East, the Raptors, Nets, 76ers, Hornets, and Wizards have been eliminated from Playoff contention. While in the West, the Suns, Blazers, Spurs, Pelicans, and Jazz are out of the race for the season.
