Another day, another MLB drama, and this time it’s all because of the umpires. One would think that being an umpire, you need to be completely accurate and make correct decisions as the game’s outcome depends on your decision. Well, it seems that MLB umpires do not think the same, as they have made far more errors than players hitting the foul territory. Who are these umpires? How many errors have they made? We have the insights.
Fans react over disclosed missed callsOn April 21, Umpire Auditor , an MLB analytics account, took to X and posted the number of calls that MLB umpires have missed over one week. According to their stats, umpires have missed 1014 calls in the April 14th week!

To back it up, even fans have called out MLB on recent occasions for bad calls taken by umpires, which have led to nowhere. When the stats were disclosed, baseball fans were enraged and started slamming MLB all over social media.

One fan went on to say, "1014 missed calls in a week!" stating disbelief on how unprofessional and inadequate the MLB umpires have become.

Another user went on to say, “It's an embarrassment!” which clearly says that how such mistakes which were once considered silly, are no more silly. The numbers are huge, and one cannot ignore these mistakes anymore, but it seems like MLB is ignoring them.
Which umpires were responsible for the bad calls? When it comes to taking names of umpires who were responsible for the huge number of missed calls, the list is vast. It contains names like veteran umpire, Chris Conroy, who recently had 24 missed calls in the Pirates vs Guardians match, which led to the later winning the game.

Other names include Mike Estabrook, John Bacon, Angel Hernandez, and many more. The X account is filled with such statistics, and even fans agree with it as it has been clear that umpires are not adhering to the rules of the game.

Besides, there has been news of umpires not being at their best during the game. Recently, it was reported that MLB umpire, Bruce Dreckman, was seen drinking before the Tigers Vs Yankees match which he was supposed to be a part of.

Such mishapenings from the umpires’ end can become the reason behind the game’s outcome. Who knows, maybe one such missed call was the reason a team lost the match? MLB needs to buckle up and start looking into its umpires.
