Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren has ordered a halt to the recruitment process for Grade-IV posts in Palamu district, the information and public relations department said on Saturday.

Finance minister Radhakrishna Kishore, during Friday's cabinet meeting, raised concerns about the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for Grade-IV posts.

He spoke to chief secretary Alka Tiwari over the phone on Saturday. He next met with the CM to discuss the issue, citing the need for a proper hiring regulation for the recruitment of Grade-IV positions in the state.

The appointments made for these positions are based on regulations established in the then undivided Bihar. "The Bihar regulations will not benefit the people of Jharkhand. Hence, it is necessary to draft regulations and make appointments to suit the aspirations of local youths," Kishore stressed.

"The previous recruitments for the Grade-IV positions in Palamu district were based on written examinations. However, this time, the criteria has been based on marks rather than exams," he told Hemant.

The CM instructed the authorities to halt the recruitment process till the state govt designs a proper system to ensure that local youths from each district in the state get opportunity for employment in Grade-IV roles.
