Enthusiasts turn up in numbers at yoga sessions across the state

Jamshedpur/Bokaro/Dhanbad: Citizens from all walks of life took part in the yoga sessions held in Jamshedpur and across the state to observe the 11th edition of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on Saturday.

School students, health workers, govt officials and athletes took part in the yoga session which was held at the Durga Puja ground at Khasmahal. East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Karna Satyarthi led the session by doing asanas himself. "Yoga not only keeps our body healthy but is a strong medium for attaining mental peace and spiritual balance," he said. Events were also held at all the block and panchayat centres. Many corporate companies too held events both in Jamshedpur and Adityapur industrial area to mark the day.

In Bokaro, all roads led to the Sports Complex in Sector 4 as thousands of yoga enthusiasts gathered to take part in the session which was organised by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL). BSL's director in-charge Birendra Kumar Tiwari inaugurated the event alongside senior executives, employees, their families, and school students.

Renowned yoga expert Krishna Bandhu Mishra led the session, conducting practical demonstrations of asanas and pranayama.

In Dhanbad, IDY celebrations were led by MP Dulu Mahto, MLA Raj Sinha and Dhanbad deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan at Nehru Complex in Koylanagar

District officials led by MP Dhullu Mahto, MLA Raj Sinha, and Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan participated in a morning yoga session at Nehru Complex, Koylanagar. At Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University, vice-chancellor, registrar and faculty members performed yoga on campus.
