Jamshedpur: A student of Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in an Adityapur-based private university died by suicide at his rented accommodation located at Hari Om Nagar in the wee hours of Saturday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Shubham Kumar (20).
The officer in-charge of the Adityapur police station, Binod Tirkey, said, "The father, who lives in Kolkata, called Subham on the mobile phone on Saturday morning but received no response. He next rang the landlord to enquire after his son. The landlord found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan in his room."
"The boy had a telephonic talk with his father on Friday night, which probably was the last conversation he had prior to the death. No suicide note has been recovered from the crime scene and neither there's any preliminary information about the cause of the suicide," OC Tirkey added.
