Indore: Narcotics Indore arrested three interstate drug traffickers involved in supplying MD (mephedrone) from Mandsaur to Mumbai. The vehicle, allegedly carrying garlic to Mumbai, was found to be concealing 1.1kg MD, valued at approximately Rs 1.11 crore.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the team intercepted a pickup vehicle near Mirzapura Phanta on the Mandsaur-Neemuch route and seized the MD. The vehicle was found to be transporting garlic as a cover for the concealed contraband.
The arrested accused were identified as 32-year-old Shamsuddin alias Annu, a resident of Mandsaur, 17-year-old Yameen Khan, a resident of Mumbai and 50-year-old Sameer Sheikh, also a resident of Mumbai. They were reportedly operating a drug supply chain, smuggling MD from Mandsaur to Mahim and surrounding areas in Mumbai. All three have a history of involvement in cases related to narcotics, particularly involving MD and opium in both Mumbai and Rajasthan.
Significantly, Shamsuddin was a parole absconder for the past four months in connection with a 41 kg opium case in Rajasthan. The operation was conducted under a campaign initiated by ADG KP Rao to combat drug trafficking and mafia activities across Madhya Pradesh.
A case was registered for further investigation.
