Koraput: A Class VI girl student, aged 14, was found to be six months pregnant, in Rayagada district. After the matter came to light on Saturday, with the help of ASHA and anganwadi workers, the girl was presented before the child welfare committee (CWC), Rayagada. "We are probing the incident and necessary action will be taken," said chairperson of CWC, Rayagada, Bidulata Huika.
According to sources, a 17-year-old boy was in a relationship with the girl. Subsequently, a physical relationship developed and she became pregnant. After the girl's family learnt about the incident, they left her at the boy's house on Friday from where she was rescued by anganwadi and ASHA workers.
