Jharsuguda: Police on Saturday arrested a local businessman from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for his alleged involvement in operating a gambling syndicate. The accused was identified as Govind Singhania (45), a resident of Mungapada here.
Jharsuguda SDPO Uma Shankar Singh said on April 16, police raided gambling den near Jhadeshwar Temple where cops were attacked by those running the illegal business. "In that connection, we arrested some miscreants. During further investigation, we found out about the involvement of Govind. The gambling was running under his direction. After getting evidence, we arrested him from Chhattisgarh and produced him in court," the SDPO said.TNN
