A lucky fan will pocket £25,000 if a 147 is made at the Crucible during this year's World Championship. Jackson Page made history as he became the first player ever to make two magical maximums in the same match during qualifying - which banked him a cool £147,000 bonus in the process.
And Midnite, the official betting and casino partner at this year's Sheffield showpiece, have pledged to give out £25,000 to a spectator in attendance every time a 147 is made at the sport's spiritual home this year.
Two were made at the Crucible back in 2023 when Mark Selby famously made the first ever 147 in a world final.
A spokesperson for Midnite said: "The Midnite Maximum will see a seat number randomly selected at the start of each session and if a player completes a 147 break the lucky fan will collect £25,000.
"The Crucible Theatre is one of the most intimate venues in world sport and it is never more electric than when a player is closing in on a maximum break.
"With Midnite Maximum, our aim is to bring fans closer to the emotion and tension that the players experience when achieving snooker perfection."
