Salmon is easiest to make in the air fryer, says one chef. Salmon can be cooked many ways. The one that is most popular is baking it in the oven. By simply covering it in spices or sauce and placing it into the oven, it comes out perfectly cooked and flaky. However, it can be even quicker and easier than that with an air fryer. One chef has shared his simple yet delicious salmon recipe that uses the air fryer and is ready in 15 minutes.
Air fryers have changed the game for so many households across the UK. Not only can they be used for cooking things like meat and potatoes, but people also use them to bake cakes, reheat leftover takeaways and even cook eggs. When it comes to salmon, these handy devices come in super useful. Jason, who is known online as Recipe Teacher, shared his air fryer salmon recipe and said that it's the best air fryer salmon he has ever had.
"If you've ever wanted to make salmon taste like it came straight from a high-end restaurant without the fuss, meet your new secret weapon: the air fryer," he wrote.
"We're talking perfectly crispy edges, tender, buttery flakes, and a dish so good you'll wonder why you ever bothered with the oven. The best part? It's all done in under 15 minutes. Whether your salmon is fresh or frozen, for a hectic weeknight or a laid-back Sunday, cooking salmon has never been this simple."
The ingredients he uses are:
- Salmon fillets
- Olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- A lemon wedge to flavour after it has cooked.
To start, he preheats his air fryer to around 200C. This, he says, should only take around five minutes. "This step makes all the difference for crispy edges," he says.
After that, he pats the salmon dry with paper towels and brushes the fillets with butter or olive oil. He then sprinkles over his selected spices and seasonings.
Finally, the salmon goes into the air fryer skin-side-down for around ten minutes.
"If your salmon has skin, cook it skin-side down," he adds. "Not only does it help protect the fish, but the skin crisps up into a crunchy little bonus if you're into that sort of thing."
