The tear-jerking reunion of the Race Across the World contestants captured viewers' hearts as the teams from this year's competition came together for an emotive one-off special on Wednesday (18th June).
Rekindling memories and bonds, Yin and Gaz, along with the other dynamic duos Fin and Sioned, Caroline and Tom, Brian and Melvyn, and Elizabeth and Letitia, recounted their epic adventures since crossing the finish line and returned to our screens for an intimate catch-up.
The emotion was palpable in the air, especially when first evictees Yin and Gaz took a trip down memory lane, exploring their unique bond that remained unbroken despite the dissolution of their marriage - an arrangement Gaz acknowledged may appear "bizarre" to some.
Reflecting on their special connection, Gaz confided: "We'll always be in each other's lives, because we're just great friends. Probably seems really bizarre to the outside world, but to us it's normal."
"And as we said, all I've ever wanted was what's best for you. I'm just very proud of how Yin's become," he sweetly added.
Yin, visibly moved by the recollections and the support she received throughout the journey, couldn't hold back her tears as she expressed her gratitude towards Gaz, reports .
"Gaz is the most amazing, kind-hearted, supportive person. I would always want him to always back me, because I don't think I could have done it without you," she tearfully admitted.
As Gaz comforted Yin amidst her emotional moment, onlookers Sioned among others also succumbed to the intense sentiment, their empathy visible as they observed the heartfelt exchange between the former spouses.
Viewers of Race Across The World took to social media to express their desire to see Yin and Gaz reunite romantically after the emotional episode.

One fan posted on X: "Bl***y hell Yin and Gaz, get together! #raceacrosstheworld," while another tweeted: "Yin and Gaz The whole of UK would like you to get back together. #raceacrosstheworld."
Others showed their support for Yin, with one writing: "Yin, sending her so much love #RaceAcrossTheWorld," and another simply posting: "Yin and Gaz," accompanied by a red heart emoji.
The pair had decided to participate in the show together, with Gaz explaining that they remain "still best mates" and he couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else.
