ITV fans issue same complaint minutes into An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlile

viewers were quick to air their thoughts on An Evening with and Brandi Carlile on Saturday night. During the programme, people got to see the duo perform songs from their album Who Believes in Angels at the London Palladium.

However, within minutes of the show airing, people were quick to make the same complaint. One person said: "Never ever heard of brandi carlisle #EltonJohn" In agreement one viewer added: "Genuinely never heard of Brandi Carlile #EltonJohn."

Someone else tweeted: "Whose this woman, I've never heard of her. #EltonJohn" While another wrote: "Never even heard of Brandi Carlisle, but I'm watching an evening with #EltonJohn anyway."

Someone else commented: "This #EltonJohn thing on #ITV is an absolute car crash."

Although there were some people who were thrilled to see the singer on stage with Elton as one person said: "Brandie's voice is stunning. Love this. Love the album." Another wrote: makes me sad how few people know who Brandi Carlile is, I was raised on her music she's great."

During the programme, host Dan Levy highlighted this was the first time Elton has allowed cameras to film the entire process of making an album.

When asked if he has any regrets, he replied: "No, not really. I'm glad it's there because it's painful making music sometimes."

Brandi confessed they forgot the cameras were there, which is why they were so candid. She said: "It's really authentic and just a little bizarre."

A clip was shown of them both in the studio; it showcased moments where Elton became frustrated while making the album.

ITV viewers saw him throwing paper in the studio and slamming his headphones on the piano.

In a voiceover, Elton admitted: "The reality is, I was exhausted, I had a lot of doubt. I was a nightmare. Angry, I was tired, I was irritable."

Elton shared he wanted their voices to be able to blend together and do a harmony record, although he revealed he found it 'incredibly hard'.

However, in an emotional moment, people saw Elton break down after singing one of the tracks.

He commented: "To achieve what I wanted to achieve, I had to really work through the pain, it was a big push. I had to feel, for the first time.

"I just lost it. Being emotional on the record, whether it was being angry or crying, I haven't been that for years and years and years."
