If you send and receive endless emails via a account then some useful changes are coming to your inbox. has just confirmed that it's rolling out a swathe of free upgrades across both Android and iOS platforms which means, Samsung Galaxy, Pixel and iPhone users are all included in the latest releases.
So what's new?
The first confirmed change is a refresh to Apple's range of smartphones. Google says that those with iPhones in their pockets will see the on-screen appearance change to bring things in line with Google's latest Material Design 3-something web and Android phones have had for a while.
Once updated, Apple users will see things such as new pill-shaped buttons on the bottom of the app, along with a rounded search bar on top.
If you love all things Android, then don't panic, as you aren't missing out on upgrades. It's been confirmed that Gmail will now offer a much better experience on tablets and big-screen foldable phones such as those made by Samsung, Google, OnePlus and Honor.
The update gives users much more control over the email window on the display with the addition of draggable dividers.
This lets owners pick between a one-pane or two-pane Gmail experience, along with giving the option to control the width of each pane when in two-pane mode.
Next, there's a smart change that both Android and iPhone users can enjoy. Google says it is bringing its clever Gemini image creation tool right into the Gmail app itself.
Explaining more, Google said: "Building upon the ability to generate images using Gemini in the side panel of Workspace apps on the web, we're excited to announce you can now generate images in Gmail on your mobile device.
"Once you select the image, you can then save it, copy it, or insert it into a compose draft."
The final thing some will notice is the ability to edit certain events in the Google Calendar. Back in 2024, Google introduced the ability to create and modify birthday events on Android devices.
Now the firm says it is excited to announce that these capabilities are coming to Apple's iOS as well.
There is no news on an exact launch date for all of these features, but Google has confirmed that they are rolling out now to Google Workspace customers, individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
