The Duke of Sussex sat down for a new interview on a podcast with comedian Hasan Minhaj and tried his hand at an American accent. On an episode of 'Hasan Minhaj Doesn't Know', released on October 29, Prince Harry was asked if he could do an American accent, to which he started "sweating" with nerves.
"Which part of America?" Harry asked. "Anywhere," Hasan replied before giving the Duke a sentence to recite. Prince Harry attempted to say: "I ordered breadsticks with ranch dressing at Applebee's."
"That was decent," Hasan commended the Prince. After Harry repeated the host's second line, "Hey, do you like my Cybertruck?", the host appeared to tell people off back-stage who were laughing.
Commenting on the interaction, one fan wrote: "He needs more lessons from the Duchess."
Another wrote: "He did good on the cyber truck sentence! Lmaooo!"
A third social media use said: "He actually did a good job, it just sounds so wrong to hear him without his British accent."
Another joked: "With that, our Americanization of our good king Harry is complete."
The interview also sees Harry teased for admitting in his book Spare that he shopped at the store TX Maxx.
In another funny clip, Harry demonstrated his "yeehaw" and made several attempts at an American accent.
Harry has been living in the United States since March 2020. He and wife, Meghan Markle moved to California after stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family.
As parents of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Prince and host discussed the harmful effects of social media on kids, as well as the Duke's work with The Parents' Network, supporting families who have experienced harm because of social media.
Harry added: "Myself and my wife, we've talked about this quite a lot. You know, we've had our own, our fair share of beatings on social media. And I guess when we moved to the US, one of the things that we both agreed on was, yes, we could focus on the things that really, that are very clearly obviously aligned to our passions and causes."
