Sicily, located on the boot of Italy, is rich with a dazzling diversity of landscapes and cultural treasures.
The largest island in the Mediterranean offers a plethora of activities for all types of travellers this summer, with ancient history spread throughout, and the coast lined with beautiful beaches. Sicily is one five Italian autonomous regions which houses multiple . The island has a longstanding history with mythology and ancient Greece after they colonised it in the 8th century BC.

Sicilian food is another major reason to visit the island with its traditional dishes taking influence from across the Med. A plethora of pasta dishes can be found across Sicily, with local restaurants using seasonal vegetables from local farmers.
Fresh seafood and indulgent sweet treats using centuries old pastry recipes are two other reasons to make the trip.
Despite its local charm, the island sees flocks of tourists exploring the Italian region each year, with over 5.5 million visitors descending there in 2023, according to Knoema.
