Elon Musk has renewed his feud with his ex-pal Donald Trump by calling for a "new political party" to take charge in the United States. Sharply intensifying his conflict with the President, the billionaire tech mogul slammed The Republicans as the "porky pig party".
In a tweet on X the world's richest man told his 221.4m followers that America is living in "one- party country". Doubling down on his distaste for the President's sprawling tax and spending cuts bill, Musk issued the tweet as the Senate starts voting on the massive spending plan,The Tesla and SpaceX CEO says the plan dubbed the "big beautiful bill" will increase the "debt ceiling by a record five trillion dollars".
Musk's latest outburst on X read: "It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country - the PORKY PIG PARTY!!
"Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people."
In a follow up tweet the billionaire said: "How can you call yourself the Freedom Caucus if you vote for a DEBT SLAVERY bill with the biggest debt ceiling increase in history?"
The former pals have been locked in a fiery conflict over the bill which looks set to increase the nation's borrowing despite pledges made during last year's election campaign.
The SpaceX owner spent around US$288 million to help elect President Trump and other Republican candidates, according to a Washington Post analysis.
It comes after Musk once again tore into the president's spending bill in a series of scathing remarks on Saturday.
The world's richest man condemned Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" as "utter madness".
He wrote in one of his posts: "'The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our county."
Passing the package, Musk said, would be "political suicide for the Republican Party."
Musk's latest outburst came after Trump said he was "very surprised" and "disappointed" with the criticisms of the Tesla owner.
"Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore," he told reporters in the White House on Thursday.
On Saturday Trump was asked his current relationship with the Tesla owner to which he replied that he has "not spoken to him much".
Tensions between the pair spaked earlier this month as the two traded insults in a bitter row on the social media sites they each own.
On June 5 during an Oval Office meeting, Trump said he was "disappointed" with criticism from Elon Musk, aimed at his administration's tax and spending bill.
"Elon and I had a great relationship, I don't know if we will anymore," he said.
In response, Musk doubled accused the president of "such ingratitude". "Without me, Trump would have lost the election," he said.
