Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested a former Chief District Veterinary Officer (SDVO) of Nuapada and statistical enumerator of the same office for alleged embezzlement of over Rs 18 lakh of government fund.
The accused have been identified as Trilochan Dhal, ex-CDVO of Nuapada and Ashok Kumar Dau, statistical enumerator in the office of CDVO.
A statement from the Vigilance directorate said the two were arrested for alleged misappropriation of government money to the tune of Rs 18 lakh. The money was transferred to the personal account of Dau allotted under National Adaptation Funds for Climate Change (NAFCC).
In this connection, a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018/409/120-B IPC against Dhal and Dau. Further details are awaited.
