After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the thrill of IPL will start once again from May 17. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule of the remaining matches of the season. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants have suffered a major setback. This is the reason why all three teams have announced new players.
Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings bowler Lockie Ferguson was ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury. In his place, the franchise has included New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson in the team. He has been made part of the team for Rs 2 crore.
Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans have also suffered a major setback. Their star batsman Jos Buttler will return home on May 26. Before that, he will be seen playing in the match against Chennai Super Kings on May 25. Kushal Mendis has been made part of the team in his place. The franchise has included him for Rs 75 lakh.
Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants have also suffered a major setback. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been injured once again. In his place, William O'Rourke has been made part of the team for Rs 3 crore.
BCCI released a revised schedule
The IPL 2025 was postponed due to tension between India and Pakistan. Earlier, the match played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was also canceled. So far, 57 matches have been played in the IPL, and the BCCI has announced a revised schedule for 17 matches, including the final. According to this, the canceled match between Punjab and Delhi will be played again. This match between the two teams will be held in Jaipur on May 24. The final of IPL 2025 will now be played on June 3 instead of May 25.
