Shaughna Phillips admits she's overwhelmed ahead of birth of second baby

Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has confessed she’s feeling “overwhelmed” as she prepares to welcome her second child with boyfriend Billy Webb.

The 31-year-old reality star decided to give fans on Instagram a glimpse of her life at home as she counts down to her November due date. Shaughna shared a snap of her baby’s cot piled high with packages and parcels, which she captioned with a single word: “Overwhelmed.”

This candid Instagram story comes a matter of weeks before Shaughna is due to go through with an elective C-section. The star has already confirmed that Billy, 29, will be by her side during this birth.

She recently spoke about his return home after a nine-year prison sentence for drug offences, saying: “We definitely wouldn't have tried for this baby if he wasn't going to be here.

“I'm so intrigued to see how he's going to be at the birth because he is not good with blood AT ALL. So I feel like watching him react will take my mind off of what is happening.”

The mum-of-one has been keeping her 1.4 million Instagram followers updated throughout her pregnancy. Earlier this month, she admitted she believed she might have gone into labour after experiencing “the most intense Braxton Hicks I’ve had”.

“I was sh***ing my pants. I was like ‘this is it,’” she told fans in a late-night update. Thankfully, the contractions turned out to be false alarms, but they left the star exhausted.

The reality personality, who shot to fame on Love Island in 2020, went on to speak about her struggles to balance pregnancy with mothering her two-year-old daughter Lucia.

“Lucia fell asleep at half four, so I knew I was gonna be in for it and she woke up about half two, quarter to three. And I've given in and we're downstairs playing with Peppa Pig. So God knows what today brings. God only knows,” she said.

Despite the challenges that come with pregnancy, Shaughna has also shared experienced moments of joy as she and Billy prepare for their new arrival.

The couple recently stepped out together at Soul Town Music Festival in Beckenham in one of their first public appearances since Billy’s release from prison in August.

Shaughna stunned in a pink psychedelic maxi dress while Billy opted for a casual look in shorts, a green jumper and trainers, clutching a beer as he wrapped his arm around his girlfriend. Shaughna captioned the post from the festival: “Have a lil soul.”

The couple are already proud parents, and Shaughna previously revealed that Billy was keen to have another child so he could experience the early stages of his baby's life that he missed with Lucia while incarcerated.

“He definitely wanted another one. He didn’t get that newborn experience with Lucia, and I think that’s what he really wanted,” she explained.
