Sad Prince Harry 'yearns for Meghan' on solo UK trip as she plugs merch from home

Prince Harry has made a small but poignant gesture that shows his true feelings about flying solo to the UK without Meghan, according to an expert.

Body language guru Judi James has decoded Harry's behavioural cues during the WellChild awards ceremony in London on Monday night, and she noticed the Duke of Sussex's deflated demeanour before he symbolically touched his wedding ring.

It comes as speculation is rife on whether the Duke will reunite with his father King Charles, as the monarch returns to London from his Scotland summer retreat while Harry continues his four-day visit.

Judi explained: "Harry's body language mood for this visit to the UK appears to be on a setting marked 'conciliatory, submissive and saddened' suggesting he might have been seeking some kind of reconciliation and presumably saddened if that doesn't happen."

The body language pro also noted Harry rubbing his wedding band, saying: "He performed one very pronounced gesture when he clutched at his wedding ring, suggesting a desire for emotional support from his family."

Meghan, along with the couple's children Archie and Lilibet, have remained in the US for Harry's trip, leaving him to fly solo on his week of engagements. But the wedding ring move appears to suggest that the Duke is yearning for his wife's support, according to the expert.

Judi added of Harry's appearance at the WellChild Awards, where he interacted with youngsters who are severely ill: "Harry and Meghan have always liked to use empathy as a 'bonding' technique, showing an ability to share experiences and challenges via their own problems. So there is a display of involvement here with an undercurrent of Harry's life as the young people discuss their own."

Harry spoke about his children at the awards ceremony on Monday night, as he was given gifts for Archie and Lilibet from a young award winner.

"Best gift ever, thank you so much," Harry told six-year-old Gwen, who gave Harry two Brighton Hove & Albion jerseys with his children's names and ages on the back. "This is so cool, it's going to make them so happy."

Harry's appearance at the WellChild Awards comes after the Duchess of Sussex has continued to plug her lifestyle brand As Ever while her husband is away.

Meghan sent out a newsletter to her fans on Monday night, the same time Harry was attending the awards, to advertise her baking products.

The Duchess invited fans to "Bring a touch of sweetness into your kitchen, whether you're celebrating the first week of school, cozying into fall routines, or simply chasing a spark of joy."

She then linked to her crepe mix, orange marmalade, shortbread cookies and flower cookies, saying her products are "perfect for happy messes and sweet moments at the table."
