Pete Wicks and Olivia Attwood appeared to joke about "cheating" shortly after his ex, Maura Higgins, implied infidelity was the reason they broke up.

At the BRIT Awards in March, Pete, 36, and Olivia, 34, couldn't contain their laughter as they posed together on the red carpet. In an interview before heading into the event, they made a cheeky comment about "cheating" just after Pete gushed about his "work wife", Olivia.

Pete told an interviewer that he was worried about his friend Sam Thompson, who would be sitting far away from him at the event, while he was off with Olivia. "It's hard for Sam tonight because I've got a new work wife," he started.

He continued: "It is a little bit weird because it feels like I am..."

"Cheating?" Olivia interrupted before both broke out into fits of giggles. She added: "Not for the first time, I might add."

Pete's friends have assured the press that he never cheated on ex Maura but she has implied otherwise. Just weeks before the BRIT Awards joke, Maura, 34, was spotted leaving a restaurant alone on Valentine's Day. When asked by a fan where Pete was, she was filmed saying: "I don't know, probably cheating."

Olivia and Pete have attracted attention this past month after they were spotted cosying up to each other in Ibiza. The Sunday Roast co-hosts were pictured on a yacht, with Pete's arm around her waist. Rumours intensified when Olivia ditched her wedding rings and called herself a "bad girlfriend" at a fan event for her show Bad Boyfriends.

Despite still turning out to support her at the launch of series two of her show, Olivia's husband, Bradley Dack, was reportedly "fuming" about the Ibiza photo. A source claimed: "Bradley's tried to laugh it off, but inside he's fuming."

Olivia has said she understands why he was upset about the pictures and has made it clear that she and Pete are just friends. The former Lover Islander opened up about the controversy and said her marriage has never been a "perfect relationship"

“Me and Brad never pretend to have a perfect relationship, we have been up, down, left, backwards, and the last six months have been really challenging for us,” she told MailOnline.

“My work and his work take precedence over everything, we have to navigate our relationship all the time. It’s the boring side of being an adult in a long-term relationship, we constantly have to work at it and that’s just the truth."

She added: "No one else really wants to say that part out loud but it is difficult at times. It’s great to post a picture on Instagram but we’re transparent people and it’s not always like that, there are ups and downs, there are things on his side which haven’t been great, there’s a mix of things.

"I have f***ed up and done stuff, Brad has f***ed up. It’s really easy to pretend you’re perfect but no-one is if you just dig a little deeper."
