Emmerdale Mike's real identity and vile plan for Vinny revealed in distressing scenes

There were shocking scenes in Emmerdaletonight as Vinny Dingle was brutally attacked by Mike as it was revealed he wasn't who he said he was after all.

As Vinny character continued to question his sexuality after crushing over Kammy Hadiq, he grew close to who he thought was 'Mike' online, who he believed was going through a similar situation. Vinny has been hiding his feelings from his fiancé Gabby Thomas, and had friend Mike to lean on, who he believed was going through a similar situation.

However, fans been speculating over the identity of new character Mike, as it was teased he wasn't who he claimed to be. Tonight - his vile plan for the character was revealed.

In tonight's episode, fans saw Mike turn up at Vinny's house, telling him that his partner Kate had kicked him out after finding out about his sexuality. Vinny then informed Mike that his partner Gabby was away for the night - as Mike was seen with a cunning smirk on his face.

The pair started opening up to each other, but things took a turn when Mike accused Vinny of inviting him over to "get him into bed".

Although Vinny told Mike he wasn't interested, he aggressively stated: "Bet you couldn't wait to get those scrawny little paws all over me."

Realising Mike had a dark side, Vinny attempted to make a run for it, but he was caught pinned him against the back door - as Mike made a shock confession about his identity.

"My name's not Mike and I haven't got a fiancé who's going to chuck me out, but you do," he said in a threatening tone. "So you better start listening."

We then saw Vinny lying on the floor, as it was apparent he had been struck down by Mike. He then forced an extremely Vinny to put his passcode in his phone so he could take 10k from him to "keep his secret".

As Mike left, Vinny was left lying on the floor crying in pain. When viewers next saw him, he was seen breaking down in tears as he received terrifying flashbacks of hisabusive biological father Paul punching him.

Before tonight's episode, many fans even suspected that Mike could in fact be the real John Sugden and that is why he's headed to the village. It follows fans being convinced that John is not John at all, so now they are questioning whether someone else will be revealed to be the secret Sugden sibling.

But now we know 'Mike's' true motives - is this the last we'll see of him?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
