With fans keen for newcomer to remain on the ITV soap after his debut this week, it's been revealed exactly who he is.
Dee-Dee Bailey recognised Wes from the hospital after her recent birth ordeal. The pair bumped into each other on Wednesday with him urging Dee-Dee to reconsider launching a complaint against midwife Zoe, offering to be a support for her if she needed it.
But the scene left fans wondering whether he had a link to another resident, perhaps Zoe, and whether he had a reason for encouraging Dee-Dee to take a step back to breathe. Spoilers have revealed exactly who he is though and he is in fact related to another character.
Spoilers released by the soap last week confirmed Wes was the brother of Zoe, who Dee-Dee is complaining about. The problem is Dee-Dee doesn't know this and that they are related.
Wes debuted on Wednesday amid Dee-Dee's campaign for justice. Dee-Dee believes the treatment she received in hospital on giving birth to her baby wasn't right, as the new storyline discusses racial injustice in maternity care.

Last month, Dee-Dee went into labour but she was sent home from the hospital despite suffering extreme pain. Her waters broke and she went back to hospital but there was a number of delays, resulting in her being rushed for emergency delivery.
Dee-Dee suffered a huge haemorrhage and had to undergo life-changing surgery, with her no longer able to have children after a hysterectomy. She has decided to lodge a formal complaint and this week she continued to chase things, hoping for justice.
As more than one person urged her to not go ahead with the complaint, with Asha Alahan and Zoe herself fearing she would lose her job, Dee-Dee asked about what she had been through, needing someone to be held accountable. She told Wes about the midwife being named Zoe and her plan to continue with her complaint, with Wes pulling a face clearly uneasy.
At no point did he detail who he was to Zoe and the fact they were related, and instead he told Dee-Dee to really think about what she was doing. He suggested she should focus on her recovery, so how will Dee-Dee feel when she realises why he was getting involved?
He even offered her his number and said they could talk. He told her to weigh things up, adding: "These cases can drain you, they go on for years." As Dee-Dee shared how she didn't want Zoe to get away with it, he claimed she would be "under supervision" going forward.
He claimed her notes would be checked and her decisions reviewed, and that Dee-Dee's case was being taken seriously. He said: "My advice? Take a breath, concentrate on your recovery and your baby, then see if you have enough energy to fight."
It comes amid fans calling for the character to stay on the show. One fan said: "Please can Wes become a regular?" as another added: "Wes!!! Love this guy!!!"
