Mumbai: The Malvani police and Crime Branch on July 11 arrested three individuals, Arif Ismail Shah, Naushad Nasir Ahmed Salmani, and Mohammad Shahabuddin Mohammad Gulsher Hasham, all aged 35 40, for illegal possession of weapons. They seized a country-made pistol, two country-made knives, and six live cartridges from the trio, who were reportedly attempting to sell the arms in Mumbai.
Acting on a tip, police apprehended Arif Shah, a Ratnagiri resident, near M.V. Desai ground. Interrogation revealed he had recently sourced the pistol and four live cartridges from his village, intending to sell them in Malvani.

Officers, laying a trap in plain clothes, seized two country-made knives and two live cartridges from them. Naushad works as a zari worker, while Mohammad Shahabuddin holds a private job.
