Noida: In the last five years, Noida has become the top destination for IT sector investment across the National Capital Region (NCR), with total investments exceeding ₹2.11 lakh crore. The city now ranks among India’s top 10 emerging silicon cities, gradually solidifying its position as a preferred choice for global investors.
Data released by the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) under the Union Finance Ministry confirms that Noida has attracted ₹2,11,614.61 crore between 2019 and 2024. In comparison, Gurugram received ₹1,56,339.88 crore during the same period.
While Gurugram marginally overtook Noida in fresh IT proposals in FY 2023–24—ranking sixth nationally versus Noida’s seventh—the broader five-year trend confirms Noida’s consistent dominance in cumulative investments. The city has recorded a 470% surge in total investment proposals, driven largely by the IT and real estate sectors.
A major upcoming development includes Noida’s first semiconductor park spread across 48 acres, where 13 companies have committed to invest. So far, 97 firms have submitted investment proposals in the IT sector alone.
Experts point to upcoming infrastructure projects such as the international airport as a catalyst for further growth. Once operational, connectivity improvements are expected to enhance Noida’s standing as an investment magnet. At the national level, Bengaluru continues to lead IT sector investment in FY 2023–24 with ₹4,07,088 crore, followed by Hyderabad and Pune.
Noida’s rise, however, marks a significant shift in the regional investment landscape and signals a redistribution of tech capital within northern India.
Both Noida and Gurugram remain closely watched by policymakers and investors as they compete for the next wave of global IT and infrastructure investments in the NCR.
