Panvel: In line with the guidelines of the Maharashtra State Government, the Fire Department of the Panvel Municipal Corporation has launched Fire Service Week starting April 14, 2025. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Kalamboli Fire Station and was conducted by Commissioner and Administrator Mangesh Chitale.
Deputy Commissioner Kailas Gawde, Chief Fire Officer Pravin Bodkhe, Fire Officer Haridas Suryawanshi, Deputy Fire Officer Sandeep Patil, along with male and female fire personnel of the municipal corporation, were present at the event.
During the ceremony, Commissioner Mangesh Chitale paid tribute to the martyred fire service personnel. As part of the week-long observance, several activities will be carried out to raise public awareness about fire safety and disaster management. These will include guidance sessions, drills, and training programs in residential societies, commercial establishments, educational institutions, and housing complexes.
The Fire Service Week will conclude on April 20 with a state-level event in Mumbai, to be attended by senior fire officials. Additionally, across Panvel, public awareness programs, demonstrations, and educational sessions for students will be organized throughout the week.
This campaign by the Panvel Municipal Corporation’s Fire Department aims to enhance public awareness and vigilance regarding safety and emergency preparedness.
