Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Deepak Saxena has revamped the record room of the collector's office, making 125-year-old government records easily accessible to the public.
Previously, these historical documents were stored haphazardly in bundles, causing considerable inconvenience to citizens seeking information.
Thanks to digitization, these records are organized in coded boxes, categorized by assembly segments for quick retrieval. This innovative system allows individuals to view documents on their mobile devices using specific reference numbers.
The transformation has garnered praise from MP Ashish Dubey and MLAs Ashok Rohani and Neeraj Singh, who visited the new facility.
They applauded the effort as a pioneering step, marking the first record room of its kind in the state.
With approximately two lakh documents digitized and systematically stored, the revamped record room promises to alleviate the bureaucratic hassle previously faced by citizens.
This initiative not only preserves historical records but also sets a benchmark for other districts to follow.
