Earwax Removal Home Remedies: Dirt often accumulates in the ear, which is called earwax. Earwax works to protect our ears from dirt, dust, and bacteria. It is like a protective shield, and if there is a little earwax, then it does not need to be removed. Sometimes, too much dirt accumulates in the ear, then people start having itching or trouble hearing. In such a condition, people try to remove earwax. Health experts believe that people should avoid removing earwax at home. If you do this, take extreme care so that there is no damage to the ear. Do not put pens, matchsticks, cotton buds, or tweezers in the ear, otherwise, the eardrum may burst.

According to a report by Healthline, baking soda can help soften earwax and remove it. Dissolve half a teaspoon of baking soda in slightly warm water and put 5-10 drops in the ear with the help of a dropper. Leave it for an hour and then clean it with cotton. Do this once a day for a week.
Hydrogen peroxide can also be used to clean earwax. 3% hydrogen peroxide or a mixture of it and water can also be used to remove wax. Tilt the head to one side and put 5-10 drops in the ear. Keep the head in the same position for some time so that the bubbling process can take place. After this, a little alcohol can also be used to dry the ear.
Earwax is an oily substance, so oils like baby oil, coconut oil, mineral oil, or olive oil can soften earwax. Lightly warm these oils and put a few drops of oil in the ear and keep the head in the same position for 5 minutes. This will make the earwax come out on its own.
Sometimes wax comes out even with mild water pressure. Take a bulb syringe, fill it with warm water and slowly put it in the ear. Place a towel underneath so that the water and wax can fall into it. This process can be done after using baking soda or oil.
Now the question is, which methods of removing earwax should be avoided? According to experts, some home remedies for removing earwax can be dangerous. Do not remove earwax using pins, bobby pins or cotton buds. These things can damage the delicate skin of the ear and push the wax deeper. Apart from this, the use of ear candles is also dangerous, as it can cause ear irritation or a hole in the eardrum.
If you feel that you have a problem of wax in your ears, then first consult a doctor. Home remedies are not safe for everyone. Especially if you have any infection or other problem in your ear, do not remove earwax at home, as this can make the ear condition serious. Consult a doctor in such a condition.
