While the drizzling rain of Sawan brings coolness and comfort on one hand, on the other hand, wet roads, wet clothes, and changing temperatures become a challenge for our health. All these have a direct impact on the immunity of our body. Especially our nose, which is affected the fastest in this season. In this season, people often struggle with problems like a runny nose, blockage, or irritation. Although these problems seem minor, ignoring them can be costly. Experts say that the increased humidity and bacteria in the air during the monsoon first target the nose. Let us know about the five major problems related to the nose in this season and ways to prevent them.

1. Allergic Rhinitis – Increasing trouble due to humidity
Fungus and dust particles spread rapidly in the atmosphere during the rainy season. Due to this, allergic rhinitis becomes common. Its symptoms include continuous sneezing, a runny nose, and itching in the eyes. To avoid this, it is important that you keep your room dry and ventilated. Keep washing bedsheets, pillow covers, and curtains from time to time. Pay special attention to the cleanliness of the house and keep it away from dust and dirt.
2. Sinus infection – cause of headache and heaviness
With the onset of monsoon, sinus problems also increase. Symptoms like pain in the forehead or cheeks, a blocked nose, and a feeling of heaviness emerge. To get relief from this, take steam once or twice a day, drink lukewarm water, and avoid wetting the head repeatedly. If this problem persists for more than a few days, then consult a doctor.
3. Nasal congestion – a common problem in cold weather
Constant exposure to moisture and cold air causes the inner membranes of the nose to swell. This can cause difficulty in breathing and affect sleep. For relief, clean the nose with lukewarm water, use a nasal spray, and avoid cold and fried foods. Hot drinks like soup or Tulsi tea are helpful in opening the nose.
4. Nose bleeding – effect of sudden weather change
Due to rapid changes in temperature and humidity during monsoon, the delicate nerves of the nose can be damaged, which leads to nose bleeding. To deal with this, keep the nose moist, do not blow your nose repeatedly, and if bleeding occurs, try to stop it by slightly bending your head. If necessary, a cold compress can also be done with ice.

5. Fungal infection – another side effect of humidity
The humidity spread in the atmosphere during this season can give rise to fungal infection in the nose. Symptoms like itching in the nose, bad smell, and difficulty in breathing are seen in this. To avoid this, keep the corners of the house and moist places like bathroom clean and dry. Contact the doctor immediately on any unusual symptoms.
