Harish Roy KGF Actor Passes Away: Veteran Kannada actor Harish Rai, widely recognized for his iconic portrayals of Don Rai in the cult classic Om and Chacha in KGF, passed away on Thursday at Kidwai Hospital in Bengaluru at the age of 55.

The actor had been battling thyroid cancer, which had unfortunately spread to his stomach.Rai had been enduring the illness for an extended period, and his health had worsened in recent months. His weakened frame and swollen stomach due to severe water retention had left fans deeply saddened. Despite undergoing medical treatment and receiving heartfelt prayers from his admirers, he could not overcome the disease.
In earlier interviews, Harish Rai had opened up about the financial strain of his treatment, revealing that a single injection cost around ₹3.55 lakh. Doctors had advised three injections per cycle over 63 days — roughly ₹10.5 lakh per cycle. Patients often required between 17 to 20 injections, bringing the total cost of the treatment close to ₹70 lakh.
Throughout his distinguished career, Rai acted in numerous Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu films, including Om, Samara, Bangalore Underworld, Jodihakki, Raj Bahadur, Sanju Weds Geetha, Swayamvara, Nalla, and both chapters of KGF. His remarkable versatility and passion for cinema earned him immense respect and affection in the Indian film industry.
