New Kia Carens Clavis variant-wise features explained

Kia India recently revealed the new Kia Carens Clavis in the Indian market. The MPV will be launched on May 23, 2025, and the Clavis is essentially the more premium version of the Kia Carens and features a heavily updated exterior design, sharp looks, a new interior, additional features, added safety and much more. The bookings for the MPV are already underway, Interested customers can book it online or by visiting their nearest dealership.

The Carens Clavis will be offered in seven variants- HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX and HTX+. Colour options include Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive , Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl , and Clear White. In this article, let’s take a look at variant-wise features in the new Clavis.

Kia Carens Clavis HTE

The HTE is the entry-level variant of the Clavis and is offered only with a 1.5-litre NA engine with a manual gearbox and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel with a manual gearbox. It comes equipped with front and rear skid plates, a rear spoiler with a stop lamp, 16-inch steel wheels with covers for the diesel version and 15-inch gloss black alloy wheels for the petrol version. Inside, it features a black-beige dual-tone interior, black-navy blue semi-leatherette seat upholstery, indigo-coloured dashboard with black metal trim, one-touch electric tumble function, 60:40 split seats with sliding, reclining, and tumble functions, and a seat back folding armrest for the 7-seater variant, while the third row offers 50:50 split seats with reclining and full flat folding.

Additional convenience features include a manually height-adjustable driver’s seat, powered windows all around, sunglass holder, rear sunshades, follow-me-home headlights, electric power steering with tilt adjust, a 4.2-inch colour MID , a 12v front power outlet, and five USB Type-C ports. Safety and tech features comprise keyless entry with a burglar alarm, second and third-row AC vents, rear occupant alert, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management ( VSM ), Downhill Brake Control (DBC), ABS with EBD, brake assist, and disc brakes on all four wheels.

Kia Carens Clavis HTE(O)

Next comes HTE (O), which is offered with 1.5-litre NA petrol with MT, 1.5-litre diesel MT and 1.5-litre turbo petrol with MT gearbox. It gets features such as a shark-fin antenna, electrically adjustable ORVMs with built-in LED indicators, automatic headlight control, and steering-mounted audio controls, plus an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4-speaker sound system with two tweeters, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition.

Next comes in mid-spec HTK and is offered with a 1.5-litre NA petrol with MT, 1.5-litre diesel MT and 1.5-litre turbo petrol with MT gearbox. It has features such as LED daytime running lights, integrated roof rails, a black-beige dual-tone interior scheme, black fabric and leatherette seat upholstery, and a black dashboard with black metal trim. It also gets automatic climate control, seat back pockets for the front passenger, and a one-touch auto up/down driver.

Kia Carens Clavis HTK+

Next is HTK Plus, which is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel MT/AT, and 1.5-litre turbo petrol with MT/DCT gearbox options. It gets features such as LED connected tail-lamps, a satin chrome finish on the window line, auto-folding ORVMS, and a rear wiper, washer, and defogger. Convenience features include a smart key with a motion sensor and remote engine start, push-button start/stop, cruise control, and selectable drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—available with the 7DCT and automatic variants. Additionally, it offers an electronic parking brake with auto hold for the 7DCT and automatic models.

There’s also HTK plus (O), it additionally gets 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a single-pane electric sunroof, LED cabin lights and a Wireless charger.

Kia Carens Clavis HTX

Next comes in HTX trim and is offered with a 1.5-litre MT, 1.5-litre turbo petrol with MT/iMT gearbox options. It gets features such as LED headlights, satin chrome finishes on the front and rear skid plates, and integrated turn signals within the LED daytime running lights. Inside, the cabin features a beige-navy blue dual-tone interior, leatherette seat upholstery, a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, and 64-colour ambient lighting. Sunroof options include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof for the 1.5 Turbo petrol variant and a single-pane electric sunroof for the 1.5 diesel.

Key convenience features include the infotainment/temperature control swap switch, auto-dimming IRVM with Kia Connect controls, telescopic steering adjustment, retractable seat back tables with cup and device holders, voice-controlled auto up/down for all windows, and smart key-enabled full window operation. Additional amenities include cooled cupholders in the centre console, a cooled can holder for the second row, LED personal lamps for rear passengers, and a dual-camera dashcam with a mobile app. Tech highlights include a 12.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation and Kia Connect, a 12.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, over-the-air (OTA) updates, an air purifier with AQI display, and a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring.

Kia Carens Clavis HTX+

Next comes in top-of-the-line HTX Plus, which is offered only with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with Turbo MT/iMT/DCT gearbox options. Features include second-row captain seats with sliding, reclining, and tumble functions, along with rear door spot lamps that project the Kia logo. Comfort features include ventilated front seats, a 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a first-row passenger seat sliding lever, and rain-sensing wipers. The iMT and MT variants come equipped with a dual-camera dashcam with mobile app support, while the DCT variant adds paddle shifters and a Level 2 ADAS suite offering 20 advanced driver assistance functions. An 8-speaker Bose sound system further enhances the in-cabin audio experience.
