The biggest film of Indian cinema in 2025 is without a doubt, Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr starrer spy action thriller War 2.
Also starring Kiara Advani, War 2 is directed by Ayan Mukerji of Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva fame.
According to a recent report, the YRF production is the most expensive spy thriller made in India including previous Spy Universe films.

Calling War 2 the most ambitious film of Yash Raj Films, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “War 2 is made on a budget of Rs. 400 crore, surpassing the budget of Tiger 3 (Rs. 350 crore), and Pathaan (Rs. 325 crore). This does not include the marketing budget kept aside for print and publicity.”
Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr & Other Cast Members Fee For War 2 RevealedThe source further revealed that as far as the upfront fee is concerned NTR Jr is the highest paid as he takes home Rs 70 crore and Hrithik Roshan gets a Rs 50 crore paycheck.
However, Hrithik also has struck a back-end deal for profit sharing with the production house which means if and when War 2 becomes a big success at the box office, his actual paycheck could be double of what NTR Jr has got.
Additionally, Kiara Advani is charging Rs 15 crore while Anil Kapoor who joins Spy Universe with War 2 will get Rs 10 crore. Moreover, Ayan Mukerji is paid Rs 30 crore as his fee.
This takes the total fee charged by the main star cast and director to Rs 175 crore.

Sharing the details of the remainder of the Rs 400 crore total expense of War 2, the source said, “The remaining Rs. 220 crore have been invested in mounting the film at an unimaginable scale. The visuals of War 2 will take the audience on an unforgettable ride.”
About War 2A sequel to the 2019 film War and overall, the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe, War 2 pits Hrithik Roshan against NTR Jr in a never seen before big screen battle.
War 2 releases in theatres on August 14, 2025, and will clash with Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna and Aamir Khan’s Coolie.
