SSC News: Like the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), now SSC has also taken an important step to prevent cheating in its various examinations. For this, the Staff Selection Commission will also follow in the footsteps of UPSC and implement Aadhaar-based biometric authentication in all upcoming recruitment examinations. This initiative will be implemented in the examinations starting next month, which will ease the identity verification process for the candidates.
Improvement in the admission process
According to the official notice, Aadhaar authentication will be used for online registration for the candidates, while filling out the application form and during appearance at the examination center. The commission has kept it voluntary so that the candidates will be able to authenticate their identity.
Role of Aadhaar
Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number, which is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and is based on biometric and demographic information. SSC says that this step will help prevent fraud and help the candidates to prove their true identity.
Help in identity verification of candidates.
The purpose of Aadhaar authentication is to accurately authenticate the identity of candidates seeking government jobs, so that fraud can be prevented in the recruitment process. It will also simplify the process of appearing in the examination for the candidates.
SSC also followed the path of UPSC
This step has been taken after the approval of Aadhaar authentication by the Union Personnel Ministry. Earlier, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had also announced the implementation of Aadhaar authentication in its examinations. UPSC had also decided to use facial recognition and artificial intelligence-based monitoring.
A step towards improving recruitment examinations
Both SSC and UPSC conduct recruitment examinations for government jobs attended by lakhs of candidates across the country. SSC conducts selection for non-gazetted posts in various central ministries and departments. Now Aadhaar authentication will help in ensuring transparency and fairness of these examinations.
This move of Aadhaar-based biometric authentication is an important step towards reducing fraud and increasing transparency in government recruitment examinations. This will ensure that candidates participating in the recruitment process can prove their true identity and no one can use a false identity.
